An 8 years old girl name withheld accused of been a witch was set ablaze by a 60 years old Yakubu Vong at Sabon Layi in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The suspect lured the little girl to his house forcing her to confess she a witch, the girl refusal prompt him to pour fuel on her and set her ablaze.
The deceased girl uncle James Bamu said the girl was innocent,that there is no evidence from the suspect that she was actually a witch.he described the act as babaric, demanding the law to deal decisively with the suspect to serve as a deterrence to others who would intend to do the same.
Yakubu Vong has been arrested and currently in the police custody.
The little girl who was rushed to the hospital died after as a result of the burns she suffers
State Police Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Abuh, who confirmed the incident, described the situation as sad.
