Arik Air Staff caught stealing Fuel from Aircraft -Minister

               

Some staffs of Arik airline have been arrested for stealing jet fuel from an aircraft into 6 Jerry can according to the  Minister of Aviation Osita Chidoka

The announcement was made by the minister on his official Facebook page,he said the three men, Arik staff, Blessing Dugbe,Samuel Asuque,Isaac Ajakaiye were caught around 3am during a security patrol at the Murtala Mohammed Airport.

Chidoka said, the men were stealing Jet A1 fuel from an Arik Plane with Registration number 5N MID into Jerry Can for sale at cheaper price to other airline.the minister has directed the suspect be handed over to airport Police for prosecution.

“A development that has capacity, to threaten safety and security of airplanes. Meanwhile, the three (3) suspects were handed over to the Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB), AVSEC MMIA for further action,” Mr. Chidoka said.

The Minister said this action undermine the security and safety of the Air craft,he challenged  the security to step up patrol and security around the airport.
