More than 120 shops was burn down by fire in Otukpo town in Otukpo local government area of Benue state, the fire started 8.30pm Thursday and continued for several hours consuming goods worth millions of Naira.
The entire Otukpe town was thrown into confusion as both tradesr customers and transporters scamper for safety,fire service was not on ground to combat the inferno,because Otukpe town does not have a branch of the Fire service,all sections of the market was razed to the ground.
Chief Obogo Alapa, the market master told reporters that the fire started from a coal pot which was found near a fuel jar in one of the shops.
