Re-run Election in Imo, Taraba,and Abia In Progress

  

The Re-run  election in Abia state Imo State and Taraba State  is at the Moment in progress,April 11th election were declared inconclusive by INEC due to cancellation as a result because of irregularities or where Elections did not take place at all.


The supplementary election will hold in 51 Registration Areas (RAs) in nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Abia State; 79 RAs in 23 LGAs in Imo; and 32 RAs in 10 LGAs in Taraba.
INEC has promised to make the exercise free and fair, credible and peaceful,the commision has deploy
INEC has deployed National commissioners to the 3 states to be assisted by the Resident electoral commissioner and also three directing staffs from the headquarters,in addition electoral officers from neigbouring state will be on ground to assist in the affected areas where the Election are being held.

The commission said“determined to ensure that the supplementary elections are free, fair credible and peaceful; and it urges voters in the affected areas to conduct themselves peacefully and in accordance with set procedures of the elections, so that the process is crisis-free and concludes in good time”.
It added, “We also call on the Police to ensure compliance by political actors with the restriction on movement in places where the elections are holding.
