  Former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt (pictured in Frankfurt in 2009) has died at the age of 96 despite smoking 60 cigarettes a day since he was a teenager

Former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt died at 96 in a German Hospital,Helmut Schmidt who smokes 60 cigarette a day since he was a a teenager was surrounded by his family ,his partner and his friends.he was a Chancellor from 1974 to 1982.
