APC Senators Blocks Motion To Summon Buhari As Petroleum Minister Over Fuel Scarcity

                                 

All effort by the opposition Party,The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Senate to Summon President Buhari to give explanation over the fuel scarcity situation in the country was frustrated by the All Progressive Congress APC Majority senators in the house.


The motion, tagged: “The current fuel scarcity all around the country and the need to urgently resolve the crisis,” sponsored by Senator Jibrin Barau, APC, Kano North and 23 other senators, which was debated upon.was frustrated as the senate President,Saraki declared the President cannot be summoned  even as Minister of Petroleum.The PDP senators insisted that the President be made to a appear before the Senate to give explanations on the cause of the fuel scarcity and how he intended to solve the issue as Minister of Petroleum
The red Chamber through its Media and Publicity Chairman Aliyu Sabi insisted that the fact that the President was overseeing the Petroleum ministry as a substantive minister, did not make him to be easily summoned like other ministers.But added, that Dr Ibe Kachukwu be summoned to brief the senate on the state of affairs in the Petroleum Ministry.
