Six of abductors of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF Chief Olu Falae has been arrested by police in separate location and a certain amount of the ransom recovered from them.
The suspects were arrested at separate locations in Ondo,Ekiti,and Niger State by Special squad deployed to Ondo by the Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase.
The suspects were said to be of Northern extraction were apprehended when operatives followed intelligence report and combed location around Ekiti,Niger and Ondo state.one of the suspect was still in possession of his share of the ransom when he was arrested
Though the Ondo state Police command has not confirmed the arrest but family source to Chief Falae said there was arrest.Three of the suspect were arrest in Niger,four were arrested last week Sunday,while 2 were pick up during the week and seven among still on the run.the suspects are currently been detained at the Anti-robbery squad SARS in Akure.
Speaking with Newsmen, Police Spokesman,Femi Joseph was not categorical about the arrest of the suspect.
He said; ‘’The kidnap of Chief Falae was a national issue. It has been taken over by the Inspector General of Police. All the issue that has to do with Chief Falae is being handled by the IGP himself.
“I am sure that IGP will brief newsmen today on the development as regards the kidnap of Chief Falae.’’
