Tompolo Can't Choose For Us, Says Urhobo Progresive Union, UPU

                                               TOMPOLO

PRESIDENT General of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Joe Omene, says Urhobo people will vote for President Goodluck Jonathan come 2015, but will never vote for a non-Urhobo governorship candidate.
Omene, who made this known during an interactive session with journalists at his country home, Mosogar town, Ethiope West Local Government Area, also said ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemukpolo (Tompolo) cannot dictate for the Urhobos on who to vote for.

He added: “Since Tompolo preferred an Anioma man to an Urhobo man, so be it. We thought before now that the Ijaws where good to us but we were wrong, although wiser now.
“We don’t want to pay him back in his own coin, hence we decided to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan.
“The decision of the Urhobo people not to vote for a non-Urhobo man in the forthcoming governorship election was as a result of the current situation on ground in the state when Chief James Ibori and his cohorts manipulated the PDP primary to favour their choice candidate.
“This really angered the Urhobo Progress Union to decide not to vote for a non-Urhobo guber candidate.
“Urhobo will vote whoever that can take care of her interest. Urhobo will give everybody a level playing ground to canvass for votes.
“Even those from Delta North are free to canvass for votes here in Urhobo land as long as the Urhobo man is also given a level playing ground to canvass for votes in the North”.
