Gambia Government Orders Female Employees To Cover Hair During Working Hours

  

The Government of Gambia has given an order banning women from leaving their hair open during working hours according to a leaked memo by a Newspaper.
Women should use a "head tie and neatly wrap their hair",the Memo said.The memo dated Jan 4th published in the pro-opposition Freedom andJollofNews newspapers, said that an

 "executive directive has been issued that all female staff within the government ministries, departments and agencies are no longer allowed to expose their hair during official working hours"."All are strictly advised to adhere to this new directive," it added.
 Just last month the president of Gambia,Jammeh Yahya declare the country an Islamic Republic,adding that no dress code will be imposed and citizen of other faith will be respected and allowed to practice their religion.
