President Buhari on Friday 31st July directed the Head of Service of the Federal Danladi Kifasi to release N5billion to the Victim Support Fund VSF, a pledge made by the Federal government in 2014.
The directive came after the head of the committee Theophilus Danjuma brief the president at the villa today.
He told him that out of N55.92 bn pledge at the fund raiser dinner, N33.54 was still outstanding including N5bn pledged by the Federal Government,with only N23.33 bn available to VSF in four various banks
Danjuma told President Buhari that the former president gave approval for the funds to be incorporated into a Trust Fund, to “insulate it from political interference”.
And also urged Buhari to use his office to persuade all organisation and individual to honour their pledges.
Buhari urge the committee to ensure proper coordination with other agencies providing support to victim terrorism
