Asisat Oshoala Wins BBC woman footballer of the Year awards

20 years old Nigeria Asisat Oshoala,has been named the BBC women footballer of the year award having been voted for by fans all over the world, she beat Spain's Veronica Boquete, German Nadine Kessler, Scot Kim Little and Brazilian Marta to win the award.

Oshoala is one of the youngest player to be shortlisted,she was the leading goal scorer in U-20 world cup in Canada last summer.


"I would like to say thank you to the BBC, to my fans around the world and to everyone who voted," she said.she added that the award will inspire young players 
Oshoala said the honour was a big lift for Nigeria before the World Cup and would help inspire young players in her homeland.
"There is going to be a lot of motivation for women's football in Nigeria now because of this award because there are a lot of fans out there,"Support for women's football in Nigeria is now growing very high.
"
