Forbes magazine has reported that Mr Tony Elumelu and Orji Uzor kalu are now among the top richest persons in the continent of Africa.
Elumelu, with a net worth of 1 billion dollars, is the founder of Heir holdings,and owns a controlling stakes in Trans corp, a Nigerian conglomerate with diverse interest in power production, insurance healthcare, Hotels, energy and Agricultural production.
“Elumelu made his fortune when he bought into a struggling Nigerian commercial bank and transformed it into the United Bank for Africa, a leading commercial bank with a presence in 19 African countries,” Forbes said.
On Kalu, He is known as a politician, former Governor of Abia state, who made his first 1 million at the age of 20 through trading Agricultural product and later romance his way into the military circle who awarded him defense contracts
He owns more than 90% of Slok Group a west African conglomerate with interest in banking, shipping, Aviation. Steel and manufacturing, He owns a 400 bedroom mansion in Abia state
