NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ORDER SHELL TO PAY 4 BILLION DOLLARS FOR OIL SPILL

Oil giant Shell has been ask to pay 3.96 billion dollars by the Nigeria Parliament on Wednesday, for the 2011 Oil spill at it offshore, Bongo oilfield for the damage the environment uncured

It has been 5 long  years of analysis by various government agencies,

National Oil Spill Detection and Respond Agency ( NOSDRA initially recommended a fine of 5 billion dollars, though the decision reached by the national Assembly was based on its findings
An estimated 40,000 thousand barrel of crude was spilled in an area of 950 square kilometer when an oil tanker was loading crude oil at a platform operated by Shell subsidiary SNEPCO...Bongo field produces 200,000 barrels per day.
