Vice Prsident Namadi sambo was held hostage by suspected PDP thugs for about 20 minute before settlement was negotiated.
The incident which took place at the Bayero University kano old campus during an official speaking engagement by the the VP
It all began when heavily armed thug who pretend to be party loyalist beat security around the sambo and began resistance chant “Bamuayi Bamuayi Bamuayi” which meant “we are no longer with you”, while other shouted mungaji da aiki banza”, meaning ‘we re tired of the job'
The embarrassment lead the AIG who was present to order his officer to disarm the thugs,giving up their arms gave way to negotiation
At this point PDP chieftain at the scene demand to know from the thugs why the choose to embarrass the vice president.
The thug told the vice President that the have risk their life to kept PDP afloat in the state but they regretted that “no one has paid them a dime despite promises’.
The vice president was told by party member to attend to the boys needs,the police handed off the seized weapon and the thugs rejoin the Sambo's convoy to another area of engagement.
When contacted wheather the police had effected arrest in line with the tough posture of ensuring violence free election, the Zonal Police Public Relations officer, ASP Rabilu Ringim requested for time to ascertain the matter.
