MAHMUD MOHAMAD IS THE NEW CHIEF JUSTICE OF NIGERIA

         


The Nigeria senate have confirmed the appointment of  Mahmud Mohammed as the next chief justice of the federal republic of Nigeria according to TheCable replacing Justice Mukhtar who retires on Thursday on attaining the mandatory 70 years age limit, she was the first female CJN,

The president sent his name to the senate on the recommendation of the Federal judiciary service commission
He was born Nov 10 1946, studied law at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria obtained  (LL.B)  and Nigeria went  to Nigeria law school Lagos and was called to bar 1971

He was a chief judge in Taraba high court 1991 and Justice of court of appeal 2005
