IGP- I CAN'T CALL TAMBUWAL THE SPEAKER

           

The IGP  Suleman abba on Wednesday appeared before the House Committee of Police Affairs, to explain why the speaker of the House of representative was stopped from entering the National Assembly complex last week,

The Inspector General Police,  explained that a group of  thug were trying to gain access to the National Assembly  complex with Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, to avoid this the police have to move to stop this.

Referring to the Speaker as Alhaji infuriated members of the Committee and demanded he revert his statement but, the IGP remain defiant,and said it would be "subjudice"for him to address Tambuwal as the speaker since such matter is in court.
The committee Chairman, Usman Bello-Kurmo, asked the IGP a direct question,  "Is Aminu Waziri -Tambuwal the Speaker of the House of Representative or not?

The IGP replied,

                         "Mr Chairman, you know that matters before the court are subjudice,commenting on them are subjudice until they are disposed of"

 His response brought an end to the meeting and both Parties storm out of the venue.
