About 10 soldiers and several insurgent are feared killed as fight to gain control of key towns which is seen as the gateway to the state capital Yola in Adamawa state according to Gombi local Government
The military has intensified their effort as a result of the insurgent vow to take the state capital which has been back up by taking many towns and villages in recent weeks.
With the insurgent capture of Gombi, they are now in control of seven local government areas,which include Madagali,Mubi north,Mubi south,Michika,Maiha and Hong local government, which is one third of the local government of the state.
There is unconfirmed report that the insurgent has retaken the Mubi town that was liberated by hunter and local vigilantes.
Reports indicates that Nigerian troops are intensifying the offensive to prevent Boko haram from gaining more territory
The encounter has led to casualties from both side,with the insurgent suffering a massive blow as Nigerian troops keep reinforcing men
