Michel kafando has been appointed as the new interim president of burkina faso and will head the country until 2015 when election will be held, PM news reports.
The 72 year old veteran diplomat served as the burkina faso foreign affairs minister 1981 and 1982 and was the country's ambassador to the united nations from 1998 to 2011.
He was selected by a panel of 23 officials who preferred him to other candidates,this decision came as a result of the ultimatum issued by Afican Union to burkina faso to appoint an interim president or face sanction by monday
