UN Orders British Government To Free Wikileak Founder And Pay Him Compensation

The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention said today that Julian Assange is being arbitrary detained by the British and Swedish Government.
Assange has being holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy where he was granted asylum,he was refused free passage out the embassy to Ecuador.
Mr Assange has been accused of rape in Sweden and is wanted for interrogation, but fears he will be handed over to the Americans for leaking classified information via it website Wikileaks.

'The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention considers that the various forms of deprivation of liberty to which Julian Assange has been subjected constitute a form of arbitrary detention,' said Seong-Phil Hong, who currently heads the expert panel.
'The Working Group maintains that the arbitrary detention of Mr. Assange should be brought to an end, that his physical integrity and freedom of movement be respected, and that he should be entitled to an enforceable right to compensation,' Mr. Hong added.

But,Swedish prosecutors said the ruling will have no impact on its investigation, while the UK Government will argue that it is an opinion rather than a legally binding decision.
