Sultan Of Brunei Bans Christmas,Threaten Muslims who Celebrates It with 5 Years Imprisonment

Christmas celebration is off the streets of Brunei as the Sultan has place a ban on lighting Candles, putting up decoration,even wearing Santa Claus cap, offender are threaten with up to  five Years in jail.
The oil rich Island has banned Public  celebration of Christmas following Concern that it will affect Muslims faith.Muslims caught celebrating and non Muslims caught organizing celebration could get a lengthy  Jail time.
While non Muslim are allowed to celebrate within their communities,they must not disclosed their plans to Muslims


The Ministry of Religious affairs in a Statement said:'These enforcement measures are…intended to control the act of celebrating Christmas excessively and openly, which could damage the aqidah (beliefs) of the Muslim community,' 
 Banned activities include putting up Christmas trees, singing religious songs and sending Christmas greetings.The small Borneo nation prohibits propagating religion other than Islam to a Muslim, and breaking this is a violation of the penal code.
