President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia has declared his country an Islamic Republic, he said it is a break from colonial past and in line with the country's religious identity and values.
He said no dress code will be imposed on women and other religion will be the allowed freedom to practice their religion.
Over 90% of Gambians are Muslims.
