A Harrow Crown Court sitting in northwest London has sentenced a British couple – Emmanuel Edet and Antan Edet – to six years in prison for enslaving a Nigerian immigrant for 24 years.Emmanuel, 61, is said to be a medical doctor, while his 58-year-old wife is a nurse. The court had on November 17 found the couple guilty of child cruelty, slavery and assisting in illegal immigration.
