ISIS fighters have stormed underground bunkers in Libya and stolen ex-leader Muammar Gaddafi's supplies of deadly nerve gas Sarin, reports say.
The thieving Jihadis have made off with 12 cases of the deadly chemical weapon, according to ex-Libyan dictator Gaddafi's cousin Ahmed.
He claims that the gas stores were not being properly guarded in the desert location, and even thinks the killer terror cult has already used some of it.
Gaddafi was killed in 2011 in battle, but the downfall of his regime has left a void filled by an unstable civil war.
Ahmed Gaddafi Al-Dam said: “ISIS has managed to find some of the secret underground storage facilities, still holding chemical weapons, hidden in the desert. Unfortunately, they weren’t properly guarded.
“There are two known cases of this chemical agent being stolen. I know this from my sources in Tripoli. In the first case, seven drums of sarin were stolen, and in the second, I think it was five.”The destructive chemicals have already been used, he claims, having formerly was one of Gaddafi’s most trusted security chiefs.
He recalls that during recent clashes near the Al-Quds Mosque in Tripoli, security forces discovered a vehicle loaded with sarin
Speaking to RT, he added: “Unfortunately, those who had driven this vehicle into the city didn’t understand the dangers of this nerve agent, and how risky it was to bring it into an urban area, let alone ever use it.
"I don’t want to spread panic, but that’s the reality. And the world knows this very well."
It has been feared that ISIS murderers have smuggled the nerve gas into Europe by militants posing as migrants
And officials believe ISIS is “aggressively developing chemical weapons” and even set up a new cell dedicated to creating weapons of mass destruction.
Sarin is a colourless, odorless liquid used as a chemical weapon because of its extreme potency as a nerve agent.
