Court Discharges 5 Police Officers accused of Killing Boko Haram Leader Mohammed Yusuf

                                

Federal high Court sitting in Abuja has discharged and acquitted 5 police officers accused of killing the AlhajiYusuf Mohammed, the former leader of Boko haram .
The 5 officers discharged are ACP J.B Abang, ACP Akera, ACP Adamu Buba, CSP Mohammed Ahmadu and Sergeant Adamu Gado.
Justice Chukwu the presiding judge,ruled that the six prosecution witness couldn't present any evidence linking the killing of Yusuf to the accused officers.the Judge also noted that the investigating Police Officer did not visit the scene of the crime but relied on the evidence of others to charge the officers

"None of the witnesses also testified to the effect that any of the defendants killed Mohammed Yusuf or that any of them was responsible for his death."

The court consequently discharged the defendants as the prosecution could not establish a prima facie case against any of them.Justice Chukwu said
