Strike won't Stop Fuel Availibility-NNPC
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC has assured Nigerians that the Industrial action undertaken by the two Unions, NUPENG and PENGASSAN will not cause fuel scarcity or its distribution in this festive period
In a statement issue by the Corporation Group General Manager,Group Public Affairs Division,Mr Ohi Alegbe, Advice member of the public to avoid stock piling petroleum product at home as that can lead to death and destruction of properties.
The corporation stated that it was in dialogue with the leadership of the Union who promise not to disrupt fuel supply and distribution,since their grievance was directed at anti- labor issue by some International Oil companies
The statement also highlight that the Pipeline and Product Marketing Company PPMC, NNPC downstream subsidiary, has over 32 days stock of Petroleum Product ready for Nation wide distribution, and addition 17 Petroleum laden Vessel are in Lagos Port awaiting discharge to different depot in the country
It also states that the corporation is doing its best to avoid untold hardship to Motorist during this season
“The Corporation also advised marketers to desist from hoarding or diversion of petroleum products as any marketer caught in the act would be sanctioned.”
