Flight ZQ8501 AirAsia carrying 162 on board from Sarubaya, Indonasian to Singapore has lost contact with Air traffic control, the plane was due for arrival 8.30 am local time Sunday
According to a statement from the airline 16 children, 1 infant,1 Singaporean National,3 Korean,1 Malaysian and 157 Indonesian were on board.
The authority said the Airbus 320-200 with the registration number PK-AXC had asked for another route due to poor weather condition before contact was lost over Indonesia airspace.
Search and rescue operation is in progress according to the airline
