Ivory Coast Former First Lady On Trial

           

Simone Gbagbo the wife of former Ivory coast president Laurent Gbagbo,is now facing trial for he Role in stealing the elections which her husband lost in October 2010 that result in a conflict which 3000 people died
The trial began on Friday 26th Dec, she was charged along with 82 other supporters of her husband for 'undermining the security of the State'
Prosecutor Soungalo Coulibali says  “If she is found guilty, she will get 20 years to life because we are talking about a crime against state security,”

Laurent Gbagbo lost the 2010 election to Alassane Quattara but refused conceding defeat resulting to civil war,he was eventually chased out of the presidential villa April 2010 by rebels,he is currently been imprisoned in the Netherlands where he will be trialed for crime against humanity
