600,000 HIV/AIDS patients living in Kaduna
The Network of people living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria announce on Monday that 600,000 people infected with HIV lives in kaduna which represents 9.2% higher than Port Harcourt
The group blame the State Government for not doing enough to reduce the spread and endangering victims and Orphans of the disease.
Addressing a conference in the state capital on world AIDS day, Emmanuel Bonet,stated that the future for Kaduna State remain bleak due to negligence of the state government as the world battle to eradicated the disease
Another leader of the group,Benjamin Agbonso said the state ought to fight the disease with all sincerity with the current number of those infected
Angboson said, “600,000 persons living with HIV in the state is second to Rivers. Benue used to be second but the current statistics show that Kaduna State is 9.2 per cent HIV prevalence rate. The state needs to take proactive measures so that the state do not record high rate of orphans and widows.”
