No fewer than 50 shops were destroyed by early morning inferno in Oladipo auto spare parts market, in Mushin ,Lagos.
The fire which started at about 3:30, at Freedom Line Market, by Alhaji Akinwunmi Street was caused by an aluminium 33KVA high voltage cable which fell on some shops within the market. According to Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA), Mr. Michael Akindele,Goods, particularly, vehicle spare parts,worth millions were destroyed.
“Most of the stalls were constructed directly under the high tension cable which runs through the market. We didn’t record any casualty.“The fire was curtailed from spreading to other shops.“The fire was put out, but, our men will remain on ground to forestall further outbreak.“Lagos State Fire Services, the agency’s emergency response team and police officers from Mushin are still on ground,” he said.
The fire was been completely put out and no live was lost .
