Mr Chuka Akubuiroh, the Edo state commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps said more officers will be deployed to the Internally displaced Persons camp in Uhuogua,he stated that though there no immediate threat to the camp but the peaceful environment should not be taken for granted.
He added that the Officer will assist in provision of welfare services to the displaced persons.
“We want to be sure that the IDPs are well secured,” Akubuiroh declared in Benin on Monday when he visited the IDPs camp to assess the security situation there .
He said that there were currently no security concerns in the camp, but added that the outfit “must be proactive”.
“The NSCDC and other security agencies have maintained security at the camp with adequate officers, but we want to do even more,” he said.
