Murtala Mohammed International Airport ,E wing Fire

                                  
The E wing arrival of the Murtala Mohammed airport, was on fire Wednesday 1st April, a fire outbreak  from one of the offices of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,spread smoke which enveloped the arrival hall of the E wing creating fear and panic forcing Passengers to abandon their luggage at customs and immigration checkpoint to scamper for safety

It took a combine effort of the FAAN firemen and Aerodrome official to mobilize and put out the fire that started about 1.30pm, flight that arrived  had to wait until it was safe for passenger to disembark


Confirming the Incident by FAAN,General Manager,Corporate Communication, Mr Yakubu said

“There was a minor smoke incident at the “E” arrival wing of the international terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 1.13pm today (yesterday).
The smoke was quickly traced to some offices at the E wing on the ground floor of the terminal by a combined team of FAAN’s electrical engineers and fire officers.
“Investigations have commenced to ascertain the cause of the fire.
“The authority wishes to assure the travelling public and other airport users that there was no immediate danger to anyone as a result of the incident, neither did it affect flight operations at the terminal.”
