President Robert Mugabe Refuses To Step Down

  Mugabe was surrounded by a cabal of generals as he delivered the address, in which he promised to hold a party conference in the coming weeks to resolve tensions, and vowed to preside over it himself

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe clung to power on Sunday as he delivered a bizarre 20-minute speech from his presidential palace in Harare but made no mention of his widely-expected resignation


Mugabe promised to resolve internal conflicts within his Zanu PF party and called for national unity and security.the 93-year-old dictator announced a party conference to take place in the coming weeks and said he would be presiding over it.
