A whistleblower leads the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC to recover cash of N250m in popular Balogun market in Lagos.
The cash recovered is made up of various currencies among which are €547,730,£21,090 and N5,648,500.The EFCC intercepted the cash following information that a huge sum of money was being moved around in the Market to be converted into foreign currencies. in a timely move, the EFCC was able to recover the cash even as most of it has been converted into pounds Sterling and Euros.
The Bureau De Change operator who the money was found in his possession claimed he is acting on behalf of his boss who sent the money from Northern Nigeria
