PhotoNews: Meet Britain New £1b Submarine

Easy does it! The hugely-proportioned HMS Audacious was taken out of its indoor ship building complex at BAE Systems today

Royal Submarine ready for its first voyage: It can go round the world without surfacing, hit targets 745 miles away with cruise missiles and can hear ships in New York while under the Channel. see more below

Powerful: The 318ft long, 7,400 tonne nuclear-powered HMS Audacious has cost taxpayers more than £1billion but along with her sisters, sets a new standard in weapons load and stealth'
Artful Dodger: One of eleven warships, Artful - much like HMS Audacious - is 318 feet in length and weighs 7,400 tonnes
Audacious in numbers: The giant ship is capable of striking targets with pinpoint accuracy from 745 miles away - the equivalent of aiming for a target in Spain from Plymouth, Devon
Sister act: HMP Audacious' sibling Artful is one of eleven warships designed and manufactured by BAE Systems for the Royal Navy as a part of a military program rolled out by the Government
The third highly-complex Astute class submarine Artful was completed in May 2014, three years ahead of her sister warship HMS Audacious
