Nigerian Doctor Banned From Practicing Medicine In The UK

                        Dr Anthony Madu who has been ordered to pay back the thousands he eanred by working

Nigeria born Dr Madu has been ordered by a British court to pay 75,000 Pounds back to NHS or face 2 years  in jail.
Dr Anthony Madu, 45  a Gynecologist secretly worked with other hospital while on a paid sick leave, he was given a suspended sentence of 2 years  in 2014 after been found guilty of fraud.

He has been ordered at a proceed of crime hearing to refund 75,620,73 pounds in six months or  go to prison.
Madu was given an obstetrics and gynaecology registrar post at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, in August 2009. 
But he was suspended and put on extended leave just two months later over allegations about his conduct towards other staff and claims he had falsified his training record.

But on January 2010 he submitted sick notes on three occasions, saying he could not work because of stress. he later went on to  work at four hospitals in Manchester, Yorkshire and the Midlands. 
Prosecutor Christian Jowett told the court that Madu transferred £95,000 to a bank account in Nigeria.

Judge David Wynn Morgan who passed the sentence  said Madu will never be able to practise medicine in the UK again. 

Dr Anthony Madu defrauded the NHS of money which should have been spent on patient care.’ a counter fraud specialist for NHS said
