
Just barely 24 hours after acting IGP accused his former boss of leaving office with 24 police cars,it has been discovered that the vehicles are under repair at the auto shop including the two armoured BMW.
Vanguard’s investigation showed that the cars were sent to Auto Computers located in the Jabi district of Abuja and that the spare BMW car has been completed and repainted. one of the BMW had engine problems in the past 5 year and was sent to the auto shop before Solomon Arase left office in preparation for the new IG.But one of the spare was completed and delivered to the police headquarters on Sunday.
The second, due to high tech embedded needed time to repair due to spare parts that would be imported.
The transport Department that would have been approached for explanations were not approached. Rather, the IGP secretariat comprising of newly posted officers, were said to have written the former IGP demanding the whereabouts of the staff cars and other 22 vehicles, some the former IGP was said to have interpreted as a slight on his person.
Investigation into the whereabouts of other vehicles showed that the vehicles were intact and that while some were deployed for operations, the Police had records of the location of others.
