Oil Worker Ends Strike After Government Promise No Job Cut

                                     

The Nigerian Oil worker union end it's one day old strike against the unbundling of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,NNPC.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers said they were not informed of the plans by the Minister of Petroleum and the government to streamline NNPC toward a more efficient operation body.

But the Union called off the strike 5am Thursday after an all night meeting with the Minister of petroleum (state) Dr Ibe Kachukwu who assured them there will be no Job loss.

“The strike was called off around 5:00am (0400 GMT) this morning at the end of an all-night meeting with union officials,” Ohi Alegbe, a spokesman for NNPC, said.
