Police in Ogun State has arrested Mrs Titilayo Adebola, an owner of a private hospital in in Arogun village of Ewekoro Local Government of Ogun State, over a missing baby delivered in the hospital-
The suspect abducted the baby immediately after birth June 13th and was arrested by the police attached to Ewekoro division of the state command.
sympathizers in the community noticed that the suspect, who was never pregnant, suddenly started nursing a baby,according to the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest to reporters on Sunday in Abeokuta, saying the nurse who took delivery of the baby in the hospital on June 13 had lied and deceived the mother that she had a still birth.
“The police operatives handled the matter professionally as they rescued the baby alive and unhurt. The suspect has given credible statement that will assist the police. The woman will soon be charged to court,” the police spokesman said.
The commissioner of police, Abdulmajid Ali, has directed that the matter be properly investigated in order to get useful information that will help in the prosecution of the case.And also charge maternity owners to operate within Legal framework,and also to employ credible and trusted nurses and staffs who follow the ethics of the profession.
