The Director General of the National Center for Women Development Onyeka Onwenu reported to the Independent Corrupt Practice and other Related Offence Commission ICPC, over allegation of N17m Contract bribe and was later granted bail on self recognition.
Source said the DG appeared before the Commission on Monday, after answering several questions and was allowed to go,while investigation continues.
Other Key persons interrogated over same issue include Mukhtar Usman, Jauro Jibrin and Sadeeq Umar, who were all released pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Onwenu is being interrogated after her personal assistant, Chika Abazu, who was on July 10 arraigned before a Federal Capital Territory High Court on a six-count charge of bribery and gratification, was involved in a N17 million bribery allegation
Abazu who pleaded not guilty was denied bail and remanded to Kuje Prisons as the case was been adjourned to September 28.
