Ford Motor Company has confirmed its intention to begins assembly of it popular Ford Ranger Pick up Truck in Nigeria by the fourth quarter of this year.the assembly plant which will be at Ikeja Lagos will be established in Partnership with its dealership, Coscharis Motors.
This will be Ford only Assembly Plant outside South Africa Plant and will have a capacity of 5,000 Vehicles which will be sold in Nigeria Market .
The President and Chief Executive Officer, Ford Motor Company, South Africa ,Mr Jeff Nemeth Said,
“It would take between one and two months to take an order, build it and deliver it within the country. If you order from overseas, it would take between four and six months,” Nemeth said, noting that the benefit of the Nigerian plant was being close to its customers.
