The APC Governorship Candidate of Rivers State Dr Dakuku Peterside lead a protesters to the headquarter of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC yesterday to protest the refusal of the Regional Electoral Commissioner Mrs Gesila Khan, to release the election Materials for the deputed election for Inspection as directed by the Election Tribunal.she claim she is acting on directive from INEC headquarter.
Peterside decide on the protest because the 180 days given by the tribunal for adjudicating the case is fast approaching.The protesters were asked to nominate 3 persons to meet with the INEC acting Chairman, Mrs Zakari,since there are standard procedure for INEC.
The protest took a twist as police fired tear gas canister when the protester refuse to nominate the three persons.
Some other protesters included Sen. Magnus Abe, Andrew Uchendu, Otelemaba Amachree, Chidi Julius Lloyd, and Victor Amadi among others
