            TOUCHING THE MANTLE..LESSON 14

MEMORY VERSE: “For she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” Mark 5:28.

TEXTS:Marks 5:25-34; 2 Kings 2:9-14.


INTRODUCTION: Mantle can literarily mean clothes, garments, the changeable suits of apparel (Isaiah 3:22), robe, cape, veil or loose fitting tunic worn as outer garment by prophets (1 Sam. 15:27) but spiritually it is deeper than wearing ordinary clothes, it is having an experience with the touch of the Almighty. These are experiences you have and you will never remain the same again.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO TOUCH THE MANTLE?
 a. It signifies passing of prophetic responsibility and God's accompanying power.
 b. It is to receive divine current to carry out an assignment for God.
c. To experience the awesome power of God.
d. To be connected to divine fire.
 e. To receive restoration and wholeness power of God.
 f. To receive authority from God.
 g. To receive divine auction.
 h. To be connectable to heavenly glory.
 i. To be divinely commissioned for exploit.

THE MANTLE YOU CAN RECEIVE
 - Elisha received the mantle of Elijah and receives his double portion of power -2Kigs 2:12.
- The woman with the issue of blood touches the helm of the garment of Jesus and was healed instantly.
- Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers who receive divine mantle and excel in their ministry and id exploit-Titus 1:1; 2 Cor. 6:4.

 OTHERS MANTLE YOU CAN RECEIVE
 - power
- healing
 - victorious warfare
- for signs and wonders
 - for wealth
 - for soundness
- of humility
- priesthood
 - for good stewardship for the Lord
 - witnessing and evangelism
- clearer vision
 - for prayer
- for good shepherd
- for wisdom and deeper revelation
- love.

SOME SERVANTS OF GOD WITH EVIDENCE OF CONNECTION TO DIVINE SOURCE
1. Elijah calling down fire from heaven 1 Kings 18:36, 38.
2. Elisha dividing the watersof Jordan 2 Kings 2:14.
3. Isaiah with shadow moved backward on the dial 2 Kings 20:11
4. Joshua with water of Jordan divided Joshua 3:10-17.
5. Moses with the red sea divided Exodus 14:21-22.
6. Paul casting out unclean spirit Acts 16:18.
7. Paul and Barnabas empowered to work signs and wonders Acts 14:3.
8. Peterhealing the sick Acts 5:15-16.
9. Phillip with miracles and signs Acts 8:13.
10. Samson pulling down Dagon's house Judges 16:20. etc.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TOUCH THE MANTLE?
1. You receive divine auction.
2. You receive divine power.
3. You receive new strength.
4. You receive clearer vision and deep revelation.
5. You are connected to divine fire for signs and wonders.
6. You receive the authority of ease.
7. You experience restoration power.

HOW TO RECEIVE THE MANTLE

11. Be prepared
12. Be strong in the Lord
13. Be righteous 2 Cor. 11:15.
14. Be faithful Phil. 1:7
15. Be able to hear from God clearly 1 Tim. 4:16.
16. Be knowledgeable of the word of God Luke 1:2
17. Be bold Isa. 58:1

CONCLUSION: The prayer of every servant of God is to be connected to the source and power of God in other to do exploit from God. This is touching the mantle for signs and wonders.
