Court Orders Forfeiture of $9.8m Recovered From Ex GMD Of NNPC Mr A Yakubu To FG

                    

A Federal High Court in Kano has ordered forfeiture of $9.8m and £74,000 recovered in a raid by EFCC from former GMD of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, Mr Andrew Yakubu at a run down slum in Kaduna.

Justice Zainab in her ruling held  “That the sum of $9,772,000 (Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Two Thousand United States Dollars) and £74,000 (Seventy Four Thousand Pound Sterling) which are now in the custody of the applicant (EFCC) are in the interim forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
Mr Yakubu is still in the custody of the EFCC.
