O.J. Simpson wants to return to Florida once he’s released from prison but there’s a big problem… the Sunshine State doesn’t want him.
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi made it very clear that she doesn’t want the former football star to serve his parole in her state. In a letter to Florida’s Department of Corrections, she explained that it would burden local law enforcement and risk the safety of Floridians.
“Floridians are well aware of Mr. Simpson’s background, his wanton disregard for the lives of others, and of his scofflaw attitude with respect to the heinous acts for which he has been found civilly liable,” she wrote. “The specter of his residing in comfort in Florida should not be an option… Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal.”
She also cited his reputation for destructive behavior and the Nicole Brown Simpson/Ron Goldman wrongful death case that Simpson has avoided paying.
He will be released on Monday, October 2nd after serving 9 years of 33 years for robbery and Kidnapping in 2008
