German Chancellor Angela Merkel's CDU party has won the largest share of votes at the German election, exit polls show her party 32.5 percent of the total votes.
Merkel's first task will be to find a new coalition partner after the SPD, her former partner, announced it would go into opposition after polling just 20 percent
