QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ANOINTING

INTRODUCTION: Anointing is a supernatural thing. Anointing is the ability to do things without sweat. True anointing is the power and influence of the Holy Spirit saturating and permeating a person.
SOME HARD FACTS ABOUT ANOINTING
1. God is particular with His anointing- 1 Sam. 16: 1-13.
2. God always considers the heart- Ps. 17:3.
3. God's anointing can cause others to dislike you.
4. There is fake and counterfeit anointingActs 8: 9-11.
5. True anointing can be transferred - Num. 11:17; 2 Kings 2:9.
6. Prayer and fasting is a key in connection with the flow of the anointing- Matt. 17: 20-21.
7. Anointing is a sovereign appointment of God- 2 Kings 4:27.
8. Those who experience anointing without transformation will ultimately end in ruin and destruction- Luke 13:27.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ANOINTING
People from all walks of life, regardless of nationality, religion, colour, trade, profession, status are being called by the Holy Spirit to fulfil God's purposes.
But there are qualifications to be met:
1. Conviction - 2 Sam. 24:10
2. Repentance -Heb. 2:38.
3. Consecration- Ps. 1:23
4. Humility- Phil. 2:8; James 4:10; 1 Peter 5:6
5. Hunger and thirst - Ps. 42:1; Phil. 3:10
6. Come to Him just the way you are
7. Brokenness - Ps. 34:8
8. Be Self-less and create space for others Num. 11:25-28.
9. The place of the Word - John 6:63; Heb. 4:12
ANOINTING AND DISCIPLINE- Job 1:8 We have been talking about anointing and what qualifies you to receive anointing. Beloved, let me tell you this, getting the anointing is the first glory, growing in discipline is the latter glory and the latter is always greater than the former.
IN CONCLUSION It does not matter what other exceptional gifts you may have or possess, without anointing, there cannot be a beginning in the long journey of God's glory. Whomever He calls to fulfil His omnipotent purposes must start with the anointing. You therefore need to long for it, crave for it and thirst for it.
PRAYER POINTS
1. My Father, call me and qualify me for your anointing, in the name of Jesus.
2. My Father, let your anointing transform my spiritual life permanently for heaven sake, in the name of Jesus.
