Pope Francis Flies Twelve Migrants From Lesbos To Rome In His Jet

  The 12 asylum seekers arrived in Rome along with the Pope shortly before 4pm today following the short flight from Lesbos 

Pope Francis today took a dozen Syrian with him to Rome, 3 families among which are 6 children
Two of the families are from the Syrian capital Damascus, while the third is from the ISIS stronghold of Deir el-Zour in the north of the country, near the frontier with Iraq.The Vatican will take responsibility for supporting the families. But the Catholic Sant'Egidio community will take care of getting them settled initially.



 

 The six adults and six children all arrived in Lesbos before a controversial new immigration deal with Turkey was implemented
