Saudi Arabia Executes 47 Convicted Terrorist Including a Shiite Cleric

                  
Saudi Arabia on Saturday executed 47 terrorist including Nimr al-Nimr, a Shia leader and Faris al-Zahrani an al Qaeda preacher. Nimr al-Nimr was given  a death sentence for leading anti-government protest in 2011,he was convicted of sedition,disobedience and bearing arms,charges he never denied but said he never carried arms or called for violence.

An Egyptian and a Chadian citizen were among those who were executed,. Many of those sentenced to death and executed were linked to attack carried out in the kingdom in 2003 and 2006 blamed on al Qaeda.
