2016 Nigeria Budget Document stolen from National Assembly

Hard and Soft Copies of Nigeria 2016 budget submitted to National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari Dec 22nd has been reported missing according to Premium Times Report.

The Senate was suppose to commence deliberation on the Budget today Tuesday but the Lawmakers were shocked when the Senate Leader Ali Ndume disclosed to the house in a close door session that the document has been stolen.

Sources confirmed to PTimes that Ndume said  deliberation could not commence until fresh copies of the Budget is Obtained from the presidency,Ministry of Finance or that of National Planning.
The Chairman, Senate Committee of Appropriation, Danjuma Goje, was subsequently mandated to lead a search for the documents and liaise with the presidency, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Ita Enang, and the national planning ministry on the matter.
The Senate also decided to keep the matter hidden from the public to avoid the embarrassment it will bring to the Presidency, The National Assembly and the country.
Some lawmakers said they  suspect the Presidency collide with the management of the National Assembly to quietly remove the document after detecting some discrepancies in them.
