Abia Tribunal Annuls Election Bars APGA from Re-Run

                                

The National and State Assembly Tribunal sitting in Umuahia has nullified the April 11th election of Mr Emeka Nnamani of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA representing Aba North state constituency on the ground that he was not qualified to contest.

The Tribunal also bars APGA from contesting in the re-run election,the Chairman of the Tribunal.
Justice Sabiu Yahuza in his judgement said  “the petitioner, Dr. Nwagba proved the allegation of non-qualification leveled against the respondent as his name was not in the register of his Eziama Ward of his party, APGA, and ought not to have participated in the said election.”

He said the re-run should be between  the PDP candidate and other parties the earlier participated,but not APGA.
The Tribunal also directed the police to investigate the allegation that Nnamani forged University of Port Harcourt certificate and prosecute him if found culpable.the university of  Port Harcourt has disowned Nnamani as a graduate of the institution.
